I often get asked to recommend books for self-help. So here are the Success4Living Top 10 books. The ultimate books for achieving success4living and extra income.
1. Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins
This was the very first personal development book I read. This was back in 1998. I saw Tony Robbins on the Larry King Show and he was talking about setting goals. I thought this guy is telling the truth. I had to find out more about him. I found out that he was running a seminar in the summer that year but couldn’t afford it so I found his book Unlimited Power at a bookstore for £10 and couldn’t put it down. Some people have said the book is too thick and difficult to read but I didn’t think so. The book revealed the truth about things like fears and what we could achieve when we overcame this . Nobody had ever told me anything like this before. The book even includes other life issues such as dealing with relationships, health etc so this book is highly recommended for everyone.
2. The Power of Kabbalah by Yehuda Berg
If you’re very experienced with developing yourself and still looking for more depth and meaning in your life, this is the book to read. It explains the real reasons why things are happening in your life and what you need to do about it. When you’re aware of all the things happening around and why they are happening it makes dealing with whatever life throws at you a lot easier – job loss, divorce, death………
3. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
When I saw the trailers for this DVD and Book I thought – OK I’ve heard it all before, yet another self-help book about attraction. A friend of mine lent me a copy of the DVD and I thought “WOW” this is fantastic stuff. Even though you may have heard it before it’s still good to hear things from other perspectives. The Secret explains how you need to think about what you want and as if by magic it appears. Trust me – it works…….
4. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
I first came across this book not long after first becoming a Life Coach. I subscribed to a forum where they kept talking about playing this game that would help you get out of the rat race and become financially independent. I found the book and again couldn’t believe what it was telling me. Again no-one had ever told me about how to manage my finances and how to get out of the rat race.
5. Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki
This book is a follow on from Robert’s first book Rich Dad Poor Dad. It explains in detail the differences between being employed, being self-employed, becoming an investor and owning a business and most importantly how to manage your balance sheet. You can also play the Cashflow 101 Game to put into practice what you learn from the book.
6. Your Life Your Legacy by Roger Hamilton
You’ve probably discovered that there are tons of self-help/personal development stuff out there. To narrow things down I usually go by recommendations. I was sent an email about Roger’s seminar and he was also signing copies of his book at a book launch in London during that same week. Roger is one of the most sincere entrepreneurs I’ve ever come across. This book explains about finding your key strength in order to do what you love but also talks about giving back, a key aspect of Roger’s business sense.
7. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
This was one of the first books I bought after becoming a Life Coach. I came across this book purely by accident in the book shop. As it happens it is one of the first books ever written about personal development/self help. This is a book that anyone who is serious about the self-help will always have on their bookshelf.
8. Dreams by Yehuda Berg
I did a dreams course a few years ago and this book was recommended as part of the course. Did you know that there are certain times of the night when your dreams are more likely to come true? The Dreams Book explains it all.
9. God Wears Lipstick by Karen Berg
When my mum saw this title she took it literally and was really upset by the title. The book is about women (and men) and their real purpose in life. The book is an excellent read for men and women alike.
10. E-myth by Michael E Gerber
What is the e-myth? It’s the entrepreneurial myth
If you’re thinking of starting a business and I mean any kind of business this is a must read. It explains why most small businesses don’t work and what to do about it.
